Toccet filly home :)

Postby clh » Wed Jun 13, 2007 1:25 pm

Finally got the Toccet filly and her dam Allou home today! Wow - is this baby a cutie (and she really does have pretty big ears :) So all are now home safe and sound and KNOCK ON WOOD - still in foal!

I'll post pictures of them all soon ....

Welcome home, little "godfilly"!
Who is Allou in foal to?
Is filly really "mean as a snake" still?
P.S. ear thing is OK. She loves music like me, is all.

Your godfilly does not appear to be too wild although we tried brushing her and she rolled her eyes and had this really "wild" look about her - of course this was after we chased her around the stall for about five minutes to catch her. She let us touch her front legs but was pretty "iffy" on the back ones so will need to work on them. She is still pretty young (foaled 4/27). Although I was looking at Allou and her ears seemed larger than the other mares too :) so it may run in family and we do keep music on in the barn for them when they are up (which they are today because of the freaking heat and flies ---- PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE WE NEED RAIN!!!!!

Allou is in foal to Good Reward.

Honestly, until I learn her personality I can't tell much about her - but I swear she looks like she has eyeliner around her eyes (they are gorgeous) and she almost has a cow-like face with all that white :) She's a dollbaby.

Make sure you breed some champions out of Allou. I have a stakes-winning filly out of that family and there's always room for page improvement!!! :D

Maven - remind me - we may have talked about this before - you can PM me if you want - what filly do you have and how is she related to the MIGHTY Allou (who is gorgeous, beautiful, lovely, correct, etc...) but couldn't race worth a crap :) Fun Crowd finally produced a stakes placed winner in Throng which helped Allou's page but honestly - it needs a tad more black-type - even with Easy Goer showing on the page

S - I always enjoy getting to know them - it's when it's time for them to leave that breaks my heart :(

I'm editing this in case Madeline reads it :) - since we just discussed me getting too attached - I really didn't mean what I said to henthorn (HA)

Her name is Greenstreet. She's my 3yo stakes winning Street Cry filly. She's in this weekend in the Susan's Girl. It came up tough but fingers crossed!

OKAY - IT IS NOW OFFICIAL - THE FILLY IS MEANER THAN A SNAKE  I know she is young, I know she in a new place, but I swear anytime you try and catch her she will run and duck behind mom and she use those hind legs like little bullets :) Had a consignor come and look at the foals today and it is amazing how hard it is to catch a little thing that small inside a stall (HA). She's a bucker and a kicker!!! Most of the foals we've had love their hiney's scratched and you can shove them on the hind end into the stall - not her - touch the top of her hind and those back legs come out :) Will have to find her "I love it spot" because that isn't it. Neither is the chest yet! I think I'm going to put a stick to all the mare's and foals ears :)

I've had very good luck with the withers and bottom side of the neck. Scratching that is! Ours love their rumps and tail heads scratched too, and their bellies, and....well, we do handle them quite a bit! <ha>

But the withers seems to be the overwhelming favorite of both babies and adults at our place. Good luck, she's going to need extra attention sounds like!

Well, now that sounds like she'd be real useful in keeping suspicious characters out of our neighborhood....
And with "Vito's" across the street she'd have some powerful admirers.
She can stay with us anytime.

Well, we ran 3rd in the Susan's Girl. Better than being unplaced, I guess.

Good job Maven! 3rd place is better than not showing up at all :) Stakes placed is better than NO PLACE and blacktype is blacktype  Just adds to the page, just adds to the page :D

Toccet - When can she move in :?: Only kidding - she's getting a little better each day :)

After seeing how the guys at Vitos responded to a petty thief in the neighborhood yesterday, I don't think I want little "Toccallou" kicking anyone.
Maybe she better stay with you for awhile.

Okay I'll keep her for you for a while  I like Toccallou :D I don't name them but I had thought about "Toccetful of Slew" - but I like Toccallou too :) Guess we'll keep her away from the Vito's

Good job Toccet!
