A Star is Born

Postby Bedouwia » Sun Jun 17, 2007 7:23 am

I finally got my last foal of the season on the ground yesterday. A big Uncle Abbie filly, bay with a nice star. She was 12 months and 10 days in the making and I was starting to get very worried, but all is well. She was worth the wait.

I breed with the intention of selling the colts and keeping the fillies. My other two mares both had colts -- great guys, but this one is the keeper.

Now, I can relax and enjoy them.

Congratulations! When will we see pictures of this lovely over-cooked baby :)

I hesitate to post pictures because so many of you are such good photographers, but I too enjoy seeing them, so must cooperate. This is a photo of my filly, from Rhythm n' Ruffles by Uncle Abbie, taken early on day one. This is my first photo posting, hope it works.

Awww! Looks like she used up some of her fat stores during the overcooking. :D Bet she turns into a beauty!

She's a cutie! Good grief - don't worry about how the pictures look - HA - have you seen some of the ones I'VE posted - cripes  I'll never win a photo contest.

She looks quite leggy :)

Thanks for the kind replies. She does seem to be all legs and ears at the moment, but expect she will grow and fill out. I am thinking about naming her "Well Done" if that name is not already taken. :D

The last US-bred one was an '88 colt who does not seem to have bred on. Give it a try! :D

Thanks Lucy. I went to see my mares and foals today. Have to share a new picture of her at six days old. It is amazing how they grow and develop so quickly.
