Invasor Retires to Shadwell

Postby fastappy » Sat Jun 23, 2007 5:30 pm

Apparently he re-injured the r/r Sesamoid and will be retired to Shadwell. According to his trainer (McLaughlin) he showed some lameness after his morning workout, and xrays revealed he re-fractured.
Rokeby, how much will he stand for?

I told you Rokeby... in this sport, NOTHING is a sure thing! I had heard he was coming up a lil funny after a work and they were going to work him once more to see because there wasn't much heat but I didn't know for sure and didn't want to post unsubstantiated info, but THIS is what I was talking about in that Rags thread.

Sounds like another phantom Arab injury.

I heard 2 weeks ago there was some heat in an ankle. That they x-ray'd him and he came out ok but they were a little unsure. Obviously after working him fast, it became very obvious.

So they worked a horse like Invasor in :59 2/5 while he was carrying heat? Does that make sense?

I said he x-ray'd clean and they couldn't find anything wrong with it and he was traveling fine. I would work him and see if something flared up too.
