Poor Funny Cide

Postby pokeyman » Wed Jul 04, 2007 8:37 am

So, the owners are going to drag Funny Cide to Finger Lakes to run in a stakes race. They will have a meet and greet session and show off his trophies.....

This is getting a little sick.

These owners need to move on and retire this great horse to a wonderful home.

They need to let Funny Cide have his head and let him run. I'm tired of watching him get choked for 3/4 of a race.

Pokey, have you considered the possibility that Funny Cide doesn't care to be retired? That he enjoys himself out there? I'm quite positive that he has no idea that his level of competition has dropped and that he should find this embarrassing.

How do you know? Because I've heard the contrary.

Yes, I HAVE considered that. however, I find it hard to believe that he wants to live in a stall for 23 hours a day for his whole life. This horse has NEVER been sent to a farm and turned out.

Why not let HIM decide if he wants to still be a racehorse.

I give Kudos to Evening Attire's owners. they sent the horse to a farm and turned him out. They let him make the decision that HE still wanted to be a racehorse. So, they put him back in training.

Why not let Funny Cide do the same?

They are still riding his fame and can't let it go...possibly for their own egos???

I remember early in his career, Barclay Tagg said that Funny Cide doesn't like heat. So why is he racing on July 4th?

Rokeby..Hello..nice to talk to you again!

I can give you an additional $50,000 reasons why....check the article!!

Purse before Funny Cide=$50,000

Purse after Funny Cide= $100,000

Plus, they get face time and get to sign their book and show off his trophies......

Man, I just want to buy that horse! He would be great for racing fans if he lived at The Kentucky Horse park!

Funny Cide was at a farm in FL for several months before joining Tagg at Gulfstream in Feb. or Mar. It's widely known.

How did Evening Attire communicate his wishes to his owners?/

The irony is that he may not win. Johnny Bye Night is no pushover and this is his home track.

No, he was a FL training center in a shedrow barn.
