Another stupid BH headline

Postby WAracefan » Sun Jul 15, 2007 4:01 pm

"Unbridled Belle Chimes for Pletcher in Del 'Cap"

No. That would be a bell.

BH headlines= Big Headache!!

I am sick to death of trying to decipher horses' names amongst all the crap they throw in there. Don't they ever read their own headlines?

They don't read their own articles either. Hence this gem about Xchanger's win today:

Prado, of course, rode Barbaro's jockey in the Derby and Preakness.

Mayor Bozarth, the 17-10 favorite in the stretch, broke down in the lane and was later euthanized with a condylar fracture of his left rear pastern and subsequent damage to sesamoids and ligaments.

Well, T-Times just got in on the act with the issue I got today. The headline read "Enduring Saratoga" -- at first glance, that would make you think Saratoga was an ordeal to be gotten through. The article, of course, is a tribute to Saratoga's longevity in the midst of all the controversies in modern NY racing, but perhaps they should have thought a little longer about that headline.

Yeah, right - how about "Saratoga Endures" ... who proofreads anyhow, makes one wonder if English is their primary language - probably subbed out via the WWW

Well, just to prove that all the semi-literate journos aren't confined to the Thoroughbred world, today I heard this gem being read on the radio from a major service's news line:

"The shooting left four dead: three victims and the gunman, who fatally shot himself to death."

Talk about redundancy!

Who was the genius that said about the Travers, "I think Bernardini is unbeatable unless he loses?" Was it Randy Moss?
