Where's the best place to buy sale halters with name plates? For a yearling, if that makes any difference...
Thanks!

I second the Quillin recommendation. Although it always seems a shame to let them (the halters) go

Most average sized kids will wear regular size yearling halters. If you have a fine boned filly with a Arab-type head she may wear a small, and also if you have a large filly or colt built like a warmblood they may wear a large. If a regualer sized yearling turnout halter fits you should be in good shape.
Letters should be in all caps with the stallion name on the top line and the dams name on the bottom. Some people do the typical BlahBlah x Yada but the sales companies do 2 separate lines. Also, if you are taking your yearling yourself you may want to get a nice sales shank with a nameplate of your farm or name on it, it just looks fancy!

Also, if you're sentimental about your babies....at our farm when we order sales halters (or even if we consign them with an agent) we always order an additional nameplate. The nameplates of all our sale horses are on pretty finished mahogony boards in the office. It's kind of a small scale of "THE STALL" at Claiborne! It looks nice and it's a neat way to remember all those who have made their start with you!
Roguelet,
We ordered two stallion halters from Quillin last year and they were absolutely gorgeous. So I have ordered our two yr old halters from them for the ITOBA sale this year. I ordered them the first of the week and they said they should have them sent out by August 3rd. If that helps on ordering time... I also sent them two halters to have the name plates replaced, in case you had any extra halters that would fit the kids.

Just for fun...
We, too, really like Quillen's but they are on the opposite end of the spectrum from where we live and we were turned on to:
HorseCents

Their halters are gorgeous and cheaper than Quillen!!! Check it out, but they told me they were making 15,000 halters so far this year alone, so they are really catching on!!!
We purchase all of our halters from Quillin's. They have gorgeous name plates too. They have the best sales people !!

The filly looks beautiful on the halter
Actually the filly truly is quite lovely.
I just had to order new halters for all my kids as they had outgrown theirs and yep - went to Quillens - had them within three days - but of course I wasn't getting a plate on them.
