pedigree advice

what do you guys think of this pedigree? I just have a filly born this past weekend. A gorgeous chesnut filly.
She is for sale. Super sweet to handle. Any ideas on a price for this one? I have JC papers on both parents so she is eligible for reg. The mare,House Current is also reg. with the Pa. Horse Breeders Assoc.

Honestly I think you'd have a very difficult time selling that filly.

She has a nondescript pedigree and she's an extremely late foal.

Well don't miss her deadline for registration because you'd be hard pressed to get your money back on the fee increase.

The first racehorse in her pedigree is in the second generation, and there is only one. And she is such a late foal. What led you to select that sire and breed so late?

I own both the sire and the dam. Both her sire and dam raced. He was pulled off the track due to a bowed tendon. I didn't breed for a race horse, I am hoping to see her as a Hunter. We live in New England and my barn isn't set up for Jan-feb. babies

I really cannot speak to the pedigree, since I am not familiar with it. However, your goal makes a big difference. If the filly is attractive and has a good nature, she could well have a future as a sport horse. However, it is a harder market in which to sell young horses. You might try to find some classes for her next spring where you could show her in hand and sell her that way. Good luck, and enjoy her.

Then why are you asking?

My experience with 'hunter' breeding is that they bring the most broke, under saddle, and winning ribbons. There are also in hand and conformation classes. But your foal will be awfully small to compete against others the same age until it gets past two or so. And mainly it is conformation, pedigree plays nearly no part. I have sold 'oops' or throwaway weanlings in the past as hunter prospects (for $200-500) unregistered.
