Here's something that you don't see everyday

Check out the winner of the first race yesterday at Assiniboia Downs. I don't think I've ever seen a Storm Cat entered for a $5K (Canadian) tag. And notice that he's still a full horse. I guess even when they're in at bottom level maiden claimers, people still can't bring themselves to geld a Storm Cat.

And in Manitoba, no less. I lived there, not exactly the most live place in the universe - although I believe Assiniboia Downs is a nice facility. I don't know how often Assiniboia Downs sees Storm Cat offspring at all as I haven't looked at their cards, but maybe it's because he's in Manitoba that he's ungelded - someone thinking stud opportunity, pprhaps?

Gets awfully cold in winter there, I wonder how Storm Cats like it at minus 35 degrees Celsius.

I bet *someone* sees him as a potential stallion. Or more likely, the current owners are hoping that someone else will see him as a potential stallion. Heck, they even entered him at the lower tag in the $6250-$5000 race. The couldn't have made it more obvious if they tied a "For Sale" sign around his neck. Still, no one dropped a claim.

Dont think the cold weather will bother this guy, he seems to run slow no matter what the climate

lol.. I never have been so happy for a storm cat in my life than last night.. his pedigree is the sole reason I cashed a 30 dollar win ticket
