Questroyal Stud will relocate graded-stakes winner Andromeda’s Hero to Dutchess Views Farm near Pine Plains, N.Y. The 5-year-old son of Fusaichi Pegasus will stand for $6,000 in 2008.
In New York, Andromeda’s Hero ran second to Afleet Alex in the Belmont Stakes (gr. I) and also placed in the Jockey Club Gold Cup (gr. I), Suburban Handicap (gr. I), and Jim Dandy Stakes (gr. II). As a 3-year-old, Andromeda’s Hero won the Fred W. Hooper Handicap (gr. III) and Sam F. Davis Stakes. He retired with earnings of $836,961.
Andromeda's Hero, out of the Storm Bird mare Marozia, entered stud this year at Richland Hills near Midway, Ky. The farm will retain a significant interest in the Mr. Prospector grandson. Dutchess Views and Questroyal have purchased an interest in the syndicated stallion. Dutchess Views said a limited number of additional shares will be sold.
“This is one of the most exciting prospects to come to New York since I have been here, and we are glad to have the opportunity to stand (Andromeda’s Hero),” Michael Lischin, owner of Duchess Views, said in a release. “We plan to breed 10 mares of our own to him.”
Barry Ostrager, principal owner of Questroyal Stud, said his farm is “thrilled to get a stallion of this caliber to stand in New York, where Andromeda’s Hero achieved so much of his grade I success."

Yep springboro - he will lose his appeal - I've got one mare in foal to him - and I'm really ticked - they were really high on him at Richland Hills
And I was too!

I call it the zero factor. The further or more remote where the stallion moves to, the more zeros are subtracted from the value of his last KY crop. What is an '07 Matty G worth now in KY? Or a Vicar? At least it's New York, not Washington state or Idaho.. I think, in the future, stud contracts should include a stud fee reduction clause in the event the stallion relocates after people have stepped up and brought mares to the horse.
