There is a Proud Citizen filly out of an A P Indy mare in the upcoming WTBA sale. Hip #216, the last yearling to go on the block. Second dam is CCA Oaks winner, Two Altazano. Conduit mare is Noreen Agnes. Bred to like a distance of ground.

Ditto.
His daughters are just starting to make a dent.
I predicted this about him years ago and quite frankly his success as a sire has really surprised me especially the early success of some of his sons as sires.

I think Sekiguchi got burned with Storm Cat (Fusaichi Samurai, by TOTC, and Mr Sekiguchi), so he's laying off the sales toppers until one comes along like Fu Peg that doesn't carry any Storm Cat.
Could have sworn Fu Sam was by Fusaichi Pegasus.....

Have got to agree here.
Had he not died at 8 siring only 130 some foals, chances are he'd be at or near the top of the Leading BM Sire list.
At the end of 2006 on the Comulative Broodmire Sire List, he ranked #12 with only 53 dams, which was the least number of dams (by far) of any other stallion on the list and he had the highest CI at 1.95. He ranked above such stallions as Seattle Slew, Seeking the Gold, his own sire Alydar, Danzig, Secretariat, etc.
Pretty respectible accomplishment for a stallion with fewer than 140 foals lifetime.
ETA this summer alone his daughters have produced Group 1 winner Astronomer Royal and Grade 1 winner Corinthian.

Dehere
I think you are all overlooking Dehere as a broodmare sire.
He's posting some pretty solid numbers despite having been shipped all over the world.

KISSIN KRIS SHALL CONQUER THE WORLD!
*cough*
Seriously though, he's not doing too bad. 45 starters (two overseas and one in Jamaca I can't track), 28 winners, 6 stakes horses, 2 stake winners from 81 named foals -- that's including the 2yos. If you don't count them, it's 40 starters, 27 winners, 5 stake horses 2 stake winners from 55 named foals/60 total foals. $31,500 average per starter, $14k median. 3 over $100k in earnings (one is about $8k shy of $200k). The oldest (3 foals) are 6.
That's off the relatively cheap mares, too. The better bred ones (from the stake mares and by the more 'fashionable' sires) are 2yos of this year. There was an early Distorted Humour... Hollendorfer got some black type out of her then she vanished. Is It True/Yes It's True account for two more stake horses and one of the stake winners.
Buy them and breed to Bold Ruler or the speedy Prospectors.

I like KISSIN KRIS too, but DANZIG had a long run as a successful sire. The future number of progeny going to the breeding shed may be the key to his success as a broodmare sire. It is a numbers game ultimately. If you are only gambling on one stud as a top broodmare sire, I don't think you can go wrong with DANZIG. Currently, DANEHILL is representative of his strengths. I like DYNAFORMER also, but he is going to have to be more productive throughout his final years as he was not initially a popular sire.
Interestingly, the South American market has given a lot support to the HTR line and it makes me think that this trend is worth looking at.

I have been interested in this subject for a few years now, anyone know much about CAERLEON, 1980 only horse in top 50 I am not familiar with.
I have been out shopping for a Smart Strike broodmare even before Curlin ran his first race, is there a "Big Horse" impact on the value of Smart Strikes broodmare prospects. I will be interested to see how the keenland nov/jan sales go this year.

If I could be anywhere at any time it would be Keeneland in the spring.
Caerleon happens to be (possibly) my favorite broodmare sire. He imparts class like few others. He's tail-female to La Troienne and was just a gorgeous specimen, from what I hear. He was a little before my time. You rarely see one go up for sale Stateside. People hang on to the limited mares left by him.
That intriguing Storm Cat colt, The Leopard, second dam is a full to Caerleon.

Don't be so humble - you are not that great.
Caerleon was a champion in Europe & a leading sire as well as broodmare sire for a few years, with him being very solid & consistant in the later category. He is however of little intrest over here as he was for the most part a sire of turf stayers. He has been very popular in Europe & Japan. Most of his mares have a bit of age on them & it would be very hard to find a younger mare by him of any quality. A generation off he has been very boring as the only very nice horse off the top of my head by a son of his is Gorella & I think her ability comes alot more from her dam. One thing that is interesting however is the nick with Nijinsky/Caerleon with Blusing Groom. Swain has been a horriable sire but look at his stats & big horse producing capability with just mares from theses sirelines. Rahy is another, albeit his influence makes almost anything better. We still dont really have any of real quality standing over here yet but I also think crosses of Caerleon mares with a Sunday Silence son such as Agnes Gold could produce a nice turf route horse that you could make money with on the track but if you sold it at auction you would probley get killed.

There is a Caerleon son standing in Washington state (Allaire Farm) named Consigliere. He is a nice looking individual, and his daughters are showing some promise as broodmares. Consigliere's first small crop was foaled in 1995, so his daughters are pretty young. The quality of the mares bred to Consigliere has been for the most part modest at best, so the good results from his few daughters at stud have been very encouraging.

He will never be a leading broodmare sire but a young broodmare sire that I have great affection for is French Deputy. I hate to just state pedigrees because I'm alot more about selecting based on the individual but to just throw names out others that spark my interest are Forest Wildcat, Sondandaprayer, Forest Camp, Valid Expectations & Valid Wager just because I'm more about breeding speed on speed for the market that I am in which is La-Ark. I think overall you have to consider the polytrack as well in which I could see versatile stallions such as Smart Strike and Mr Greeley being a future leading broodmare sires. Worldwide I figure Kingmambo will top the list if he has not already. A few others maybe in the distant future that I would mention are Lemon Drop Kid, More Than Ready, Awsome Again & Tiznow.
