Travers Stakes and Saratoga GSV/GSV2 average scores

Postby George William Smith » Fri Aug 24, 2007 10:51 am

It should be a great day of racing as the GSV/GSV2 scores are so much higher than average, which indicates wonderfully bred horses that are racing to top pedigrees. Have fun and enjoy the day. I do have a Travers Stakes package for sale with my GSV/GSV2 picks if any are interested

The Traver's Stake-G1, billed as the Summer Derby goes on Saturday.
Interesting GSV/GSV2 averages for the Big Day.

Saturday average: GSV = 67.08 GSV2 = 68.42
Travers Stakes-G1 Dirt: GSV = 68.28 GSV2 = 69.81...7 horses
Bernard Baruch-G2 Turf: GSV = 69.51 GSV2 = 70.09...13 horses
King's Bishop-G1 Dirt: GSV = 67.04 GSV2 = 68,40...11 horses
Victory Ride-G3 Dirt: GSV = 66.25 GSV2 = 67.99...13 horses

Note the GSV and GSV2 averages of the days preceding the big day
Friday: GSV = 64.40 GSV2 = 65.78
Thursday: GSV = 64.21 GSV2 = 66.13
Wednesday: GSV = 63.45 GSV2 = 65.38

The Americans parade their best bred horses on this summer day
so that is the reason for the huge GSV/GSV2 average gain on that day.

Street Sense's GSV score in the 66's, is that mainly because his sire is newer, or is he outrunning his male influences? Or is 66-67 an excellent value? I'm relatively new to the scores, although i have been to the website.

Street Sense has a GSV of 74.29 and a GSV2 of 75.85, which is about 15 points higher than average.

There is a GSV tutorial page linked to my web site given in previous posting.

So. Are all the GSV's listed on this site inaccurate or just not up to date? Street Sense IS listed on this site as having a GSV of 66+.
