I'm very glad for your win, and relieved for your homebred at the success of your claim. Congratulations.

Probably not the Derby but the WA Cup? Or will you ship elsewhere?

Glad you got WBS back. He doesn't have that blazing speed he used to.

Congrats to you, Tom, and Juan...here's the press release (wish I had checked my e-mail earlier!)

FATHOMS REVENGE TAKES FEATURE

AUBURN, Wash. - Fathoms Revenge fended off Emerald Downs' 2006 Top
Juvenile to win Friday night's feature race at Emerald Downs.

The 3-year-old gelding, trained by Tom Wenzel and ridden by Juan
Gutierrez, broke from post-one in the six furlong, allowance/optional
claiming race.

At the break Immigration sprinted to the lead setting fair fractions of
22 2/5 seconds in the quarter-mile and 44 2/5 in the half.

"We knew Immigration would go to the front," Wenzel said. "We
just wanted to stay close."

As the horses ran through the turn Fathoms Revenge took the lead from
Immigration. The two sophomores battled down the lane and Fathoms
Revenge proved to be the better sprinter as he crossed the wire first,
stopping the clock in 1:08 1/5.

"I saved some horse," Gutierrez said. "When I asked him he
responded really good."

Fathoms Revenge paid $6.80, $2.80 and $2.20 for the win. Immigration
finished second, paying $2.40 and $2.40. Liberty for Al rang up $3.40
for third.

T.You all.. This colt is just to much fun.. He is so laid back and just dont let nothing bother him.. He is still learning but when he comes back he is not even tired, dont sweat, and today he looks like he could run next weekend... Deceptive miss ran another good second today..

Fathoms revenge is entered to run sept 3 @ Emerald in the 9 th race.. He looks like he will be picked last and is running against a tough bunch of older horses.. A couple of stakes winners and 2 that were in the G-3 longacres mile.. Hoping for a nice safe good learning experience since we are thinking on running in a stakes race on Washington Cup day..

This is the first time I have ever been excited to run third.. We tried a little different approach and he came running well at the end.. Hopefully 1 more start on Washington cup day and then about 3 months of R & R..

That's a very good result, although I personally would always be excited to run third. Good luck on Washington Cup day.
