Keeneland Sales Results---Distorted Humor, Unbridled's Song?

Well, it looks as if the change is in full swing now and we will probably never see the volume of Storm Cats at these sales that we have seen in the past---not a bad thing at all.
Distorted Humor is quickly becoming the King of the hill and he should be a major player from this point further. I can hardly wait to see what he will do with the book of mares he will command from this point forward. I think he will prove to be the best stallion in the world within the next few seasons.
Unbridled's Song is still selling well but they are just not in the same league as the Distorted Humor's foals. I wonder how long it will take the market to figure it out.
The Mr Greeley's have sold well because of the exchange rate with the Euro. It's funny I don't really consider him to be that great of a turf sire but the Europeans love him. I will have to check my numbers on him again, maybe I missed something.
I would love to hear other peoples opinions on the sales trends.

What about Smarty Jones? He has some pretty strong numbers so far.

BCassidy...couldn't one argue that AP Indy is "King of the hill" as of now?

Really? The majority I saw were small and unimpressive and many didn't reach his fee. With that said, I may pick up a daughter of his today. I like her family too much not to throw some interest her way.

SJ had 5 yearlings sell for $350K up to $600K KEESEP sale. I understand some sold for less than stud fee but still not bad for first crop with a $100K stud fee. IMO

Also, Maven I don't think they are having a sale today.

No sale, but you can go on the grounds and look at the sales horses and also some that rna'd and havent left the premises yet. Today is a great day to do that work.

I didn't go, but my partner did and passed on her.

Yeah, I love Indy, but I wouldn't say he or his offspring are any sounder than average.

very very sound does not mean perfect maven.

I'd take his feet issues over Unbridled song's or Storm Cat's ankles and breathing issues and somewhat hot bloodness, Fu Peg's crazyiness any day of the week.

"Very, very sound" mean a horse who passes on soundness at a better than 90% clip. Indy, emphatically does NOT. He's a very good stallion, but you obviously haven't seen many in person.

maven, I'm not going to aruge with you, however I can pull at least 30 different articles stating that AP Indy is a perfect specimen, and besides the fact that he was a ridging, there wasn't anything wrong with him

I can't say the same for unbridled. In fact I can actually say the opposite.

Now, with age things deteriorate, however thoose aren't traits that are passed on to offspring. If I develop arthritis and I have a kid tomorrow he isn't going to be born with arthritis.

If he throws offspring with bad feet, considering 50% of the equation is the dam, you have to also take that into play as well.

I've seen some AP Indy's now that are very unsound.. one very popular one running right now I cringe everytime I look at him in a close shot. however I can look at that same horse and look at his dam sire and my questions are answered. In fact when I look at a picture of the dam and I look at a picture of the horse in question, bam.

I'd like to see the "30 different articles" since you're the only one who seems to think Indy is a perfect physical specimen.

This is one of those times where you think you know what you're talking about and you dont. You cant make sweeping comments like this and not expect someone to correct it.

Indy has multiple conformation issues (nothing glaring), his worse being his feet. Hell, he was scratched from the Derby due to lameness.

And for the record, since you brought him up, Unbridled ran 24 times as opposed to Indy's 11, Unbridled's Song ran one more race than Indy.
