I think she had legitimate excuses that most recognize. I said multiple times that she really had a virus when people questioned it and that she missed more training than people knew or that was written about in the press.

I think we'll see a big improvement next out if she remains healthy. They still dont know what the virus was.

Respect for the dead, Tuc. Another in the Pletcher dumper.

Don't anyone try to hand me that this was a "prep"...this filly was being made out by the media and fans to be one of the best of all time. She's not - or, maybe in another barn......

it's very simple.. you don't back out of 4 races, then race, with that last piss poor workout and blow away a grade 1field like everyone here assumed. she's a horse that is being mistrained

Her second loss lifetime (after a lingering illness) and she's all of a sudden not deserving of great speculation? Funny how you can have such double standards BECAUSE of who's barn they're in.

Maybe it's "BECAUSE of who's barn they're in" that they need vets flown in from Mars to look at them.

this is exaclty why i'm not saying anything. I laid out EXACtLY what was going to go down 2 weeks ago, and it went down, and you still can't accecpt the fact that she's not right. she's not healthy. I dont' know what it is.

Yes, screw the best interest of the horse and let's not get a second opinion from someone you respect in equine medicine to look at a lingering virus she cant kick. I need to start being nicer to Bdw. If not, I may come back as a horse and be bought by you.

I agree... she likely needed one as she wasn't right. Who knows maybe she still isn't quite right.
Second out is the ticket.

Pletcher's horses fire off the layoff...why not look for a total regression off this race?

She had an illness some soundness issue that warranted a nuc scan... It's very valid that she might need a race to get to peak condition. With any luck she scopes clean, no blood no mucous, and her blood is normal in the next couple of days and they can move forward with her.

The scan supposedly came up with nothing. If something is going on with her blood (even something like a high SGOT level), who knows?

Scans sometimes do... but there was something they were uncomfortable with and they took every precautionary step they could to do right by the filly.
The thing is that kind of funny about the whole topic is that everyone wants horses to run a gazillion times a year AND they want horses to be safe and never have a breakdown.. but we can't have it both ways... they took a cautious route (unusual for Todd) and now we want to complain about it..? So she went down to defeat... big deal... let's hope she cools out well and comes back to see another day.

She was running fine, the final time was fine, and she was hardly being pushed. Just a tightener for better things down the road.

I dont know who said she was one of the best of all time, but she has won four G1s in a row including Belmont Stakes so she's obvously the best3 yr old filly and one of the best horses right now.

I dont understand how she is missed trained because she didnt blow away the field. Is that what I am reading? Cause Im not getting it.

i bet no one even knows what my gripe is or was.

THAT SHE'S NOT RIGHT

that's it. I don't care how many times she runs. I don't care about the layoffs. I don't care about the distaff right now. just admit.. she's not right.
