COUNTER PUNCH......son of COZZENE o/o Storm Cat mare

Postby larrygene » Sun Sep 16, 2007 9:59 am

Thought I would post a couple of pictures of PUNCH I took a couple of weeks ago. He stands in Louisiana. Has a 1/2 brother, Cause to Believe, that is GSW and a 3/4 brother, Imaginary Sailor, that is age 2 and also a SW. PUNCH has matured into a very nice stallion with great disposition. Anyone interested in breeding to him can PM me. His 2008 stud fee is $1000 LFG or $750 payable by Sept. 1, 2008.

Larry can you remind me of the basics of the LA breeding program?

geo, this is my second year in Louisiana and I'm not absolutely sure of the breeders awards, but, I will try. First, there is a pool that accumulates during the year that is funded by several ways, i.e., purses, fees, etc. and if you are the stallion owner and he is LA accredited you will receive about 5% of purses won by the offspring if they run 1,2,or 3 in a race. My understanding is the races are not restricted to LA accredited but races won at any track. If you own the mare and she is LA accredited you would receive about 22% of the purses won if they run 1,2,or 3 and are not restricted just like the stallions.

They are saying that the Fairgrounds this year will run MSW LA accredited for close to $60K. The climate in LA is definitely changing. FT-Texas sold a LA accredited the other day for $330K. The highest price ever paid for a LA bred. There have been several sell for $100K+ in sales this year and last. If things continue to grow and evolve owning and running LA accredited is going to be very lucrative.

Hope this helps,
Larrygene

Yes, thanks Larry. By the end of the last meet at FairGrounds, the purses were absolutely huge.

The horse is beautiful by the way, I hope you have lots of luck with him.
