Oh Toccet02 - the Toccet filly will be so jealous that you are eyeing another girl
I love greys (except in my hair) - when she was younger she was almost blue - she was gorgeous!

Drove home last night heartsick that she didn't sell
- she was pulled out by 35 people no less and had a perfect scope and x-rays. Go figure - do not know what the problem was. I thought putting a reserve at $29,000 was a safe way to go with her - we thought she'd bring at least $30 to $40,000. NOPE - she is now on her way to Florida next week to visit with a trainer - wasn't much else to do with her. I could have put her back int he Fasig Tipton October sale - but all the other KEE RNA's are going to be there and she probably would have brought less. This way, I'll pay some training fees and hopefully will be able to either a) sell her as a two year old in training at the sales in the spring or b) race her ourselves.
Oh the highs and lows of this game!!
She looked great however
And the sales overall in my opinion are doing pretty good.

Right there with ya both... although on a much smaller scale as well. I took a yearling who was (I thought) a nice looking colt; there wasn't even room for his 3rd dam on the page, let alone 4th dam; all sorts of blacktype under the second dam; AND his full brother had just won his 5th race by over 11 lengths... couldn't even get a minimum bid. It was my first attempt at selling in a "sale" and may very well have been my last.

You know, the sales can be such a let down sometimes. You take all this time and/or money to get them ready, pay the fees and all the other little expenses. and then the buyers just don't see what you see.
I think that filly is just stunning. But I suppose that doesn't mean much coming from a breeder and not a buyer.
