What does this mean...?

Postby TB Dreamin' » Sun Sep 23, 2007 3:37 pm

I read this description of a horse's performance in a race-

".....was carried out in the first turn, flashed brief foot."

What does "carried out" mean?

Thanks.

Maven often gets "carried out." From bars and clubs, usually. LOL!

Yeah, going wide to avoid trouble... it's the thing to do when there's desperate, middle-aged men on the hunt, such as yourself.

Since when is 44 "middle aged?" I'm at my physical peak, I'll have you know.

if I read that in the DRF PP, I would assume that he was taken wide by the joc, pressed the pace for a little bit, then faded.

One could say if he wasn't forced wide that he would have had a better showing. However I would have to see the race with my own two eyes

And there can't be anyone here who is at all surprised by that.

Saw a horse go wide on TVG yesterday or the day before (can't remember which track) who seemed to have spooked at something. The jockey just about came off. Bet he got his adrenaline rush for the day on that one.

"Carried wide" usually means the jock took him there. "flashed foot" means he showed brief speed.

I beg to differ. "Carried wide" usually means another horse forced him out wide.
