Curious as to everyone's perception of him as sire as well as broodmare sire.

I love him. I wish they'd bring him back to Oz. He's a fantastic conduit for Damascus and his fillies are lovely. He has a Group One winning son at stud out here in Bareley A Moment who's also a cracker.

Is it true that he will basically not breed anymore? Refuses to mount mares?

Jean,
Would be interested in knowing where you heard that and if there was any substance to it. I see that he covered exactly 60 mares for both year's 2005 & 2006.

I have a friend who tried to breed a mare to him last year and ended up getting the mare covered by The Cliff's Edge instead. Gilded Time just flat refused to breed.

Well alrighty then Jean & Madelyn. I certainly thank you both for some very useful information. So much for my # 1 choice next year but that's okay...you saved me a lot of trouble.

If you like him I would still keep him as your number 1 choice. They may have corrected his issues, which could have been caused by any number of things.

I think his fillies will be real valuable outcrosses for broodmare owners. I like him quite a bit.

I've always wanted to see a good Gilded Time daughter go to Pleasant Tap. I love the 6 generation cross. From what I can tell, there hasn't been any horses of racing age from this cross.
Don't be so humble - you are not that great.

I bred to him this year three times and mare would not catch. Took mare elsewhere and she caught first time. I would not risk breeding to him again.

Yeah ; that's all I really need to know. When I hear something of that nature from 1 person it's a rumor but several is confirmation. Looks like Out Of Place just moved up on the list. Thanks again !
