Anybody like him as a lower end sire? He certainly was durable. I always liked watching him run and he's a beautiful animal.

He's from the family of Spectacular Bid, which produced a lot of tough hard-knockers aside from the Bid. This guy, I think, had some chronic physical problems, though -- he missed his 5yo season and made only 21 starts all told. Won't be commercial at all; may have some breed-to-race possibilities.

"Gift of Silver" shown as his fouth leading money earner is owned/raced by friends of mine here in Texas, shipping in off their farm. She is still racing with a recent out at Retama. I'll try to update as to her racing outs/any additional wins/place/shows and LTE to date but "Silver" has a chance when the races she enters stay on the turf - she generally comes from off the pace to try and win. She hasn't shown anything when moved to the dirt, which happens fairly often in Texas. Once the Texas racing calendar moves to the Sam Houston meet - where they "save" their turf course for the Connally Cup, run on or near the very last day of racing, she won't get many opportunities to run.

whatever his 5 year old problems this guy came back hard at 6 and 7!!

He's a lovely horse but he doesn't get a lot of mares (LOL about 40 what used to be a full book!) the mgr. said because his strengths are dirt and turf. Have to wonder how he might be as a synthetic sire?

And for those looking for color he's got a big old belly spot! (and stockings and something on his face). Course that is compromised by the 50/50 shot of grey taking away any color you might get!
