Swain

I see that Swain's price keeps coming down. It appears he only gets turfy horses. Has he popped up on any turf or poly surface list? I loved watching him race and had hoped that he would be a successful sire.

I sorta like him even though his stats and the general opinion of him is horrible. For what it's worth, his yearlings still sell VERY well in comparison to stud fee. European buyers still want them and there aren't many of his at the sales.

I think this is his second year at that fee.

i was watching his VirginiaTA donated season back in February. I thought since he covered 8 mares the previous year he might be overlooked. I stopped watching once the NG season got into the high 3s.
Dont know where he topped out at, but I think VTA did ok.

I think any Shadwell stallion with that fee says "since nobody else wants to buy him we might make enough to pay his feed bill". I still think Dayjur will make the best broodmare sire of any 5K stallion out there.
