Stallion Seasons Auction LIVE

Postby Roguelet » Mon Nov 26, 2007 6:50 am

The ITOBA Stallion Seasons Auction is now LIVE: www.starquine.com

I had several more donations come in over the weekend that are not listed on Starquine yet, and I expect a few more to arrive as well. The seasons list here:
http://www.itoba.com/2008%20SSA%20List.html
is correct and I am able to update it very quickly when we get a new donation, so if you see any differences between the two lists, trust the ITOBA list and know that Starquine is working on adding that season. We currently have 129 seasons available.

MANY of the stallions with available seasons have been discussed here on PQ; we have many of the "regular" seasons that we usually have, as well as some brand new donators this year and many first year stallions in several states. It's worth a look, you might find a very good deal in that list.

If you do plan to bid, please read the auction's terms and conditions before doing so:
http://www.itoba.com/SSA%20Terms%20and% ... s%2008.htm
and if you have any quesitons at all about the auction, please don't hesitate to ask!

As soon as I posted that, another donation came in!

I just added it to the ITOBA list and forwarded it to Starquine for them to add to the auction: 130 total now.

EDITED: Three more have come in this morning; 133 total at this time.

We're up to 134. All but the latest one are listed on Starquine; he should be on there also this morning. I just added him to the ITOBA list; his name is Ops Smile and he's in Florida.

And another has been added... 135 total. The new guy is My Favorite Grub in PA; he's on the ITOBA site now for anyone wanting to check him out, and he will be on Starquine shortly.

I just received a call from someone who was under the impression that this auction was only for Indiana stallions. So, in case anyone else is mistakenly under that impression, let me list the states that are represented in this auction and how many seasons are available in each state:

IN: 54 seasons
NY: 26 seasons
KY: 17 seasons
FL: 12 seasons
WV: 10 seasons
PA: 7 seasons
TX: 3 seasons
LA: 2 seasons
MA: 2 seasons
VA: 1 season
MN: 1 season

I noticed that there are not to many bids yet. Is this normal, everybody waits till the last minute? There's some pretty nice stallions there. All monies go to the thoroughbred assoc., correct?

Yeah, it's normal. Drives me nuts watching nothing happen. There are always some bids and even a few little bidding battles early on, but the all out bidding wars usually happen during the last 24 hours of the auction.

I agree that there really are some nice stallions on there, and most of them will go for quite a bit under their stud fees, so it is definitely a good thing to check out. And yes, all proceeds go to the ITOBA (Indiana Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association.)
