Rocking Trick will ALWAYS be here :)

Lately I try to find out if the stallion is owned by a syndicate, an owner, or the farm who stands him. The risk of the horse being sold out from under you after his third year increases DRAMATICALLY if he is syndicate-owned.

Karie-

At least you didn't get sucked into paying between $150,000 and $250,000 for Giant's Causeway, only to see his fee reduced to 125 and his clients take a beating in commercial value.

Or FuPeg who went from $125K to $40K..

There have been some other pretty dramatic drops.

I am a firm believer that if the market had not been saturated with GC progeny that the average would have been higher (or if they'd been selective in the mares accepted), so anyone who bred to him had to know they would be one of over a hundred. I don't have much sympathy for them and hope they get back some of the money next year.

Certainly the entire breeding industry knows when your mare goes to an Ashford stud that there will be more supply then demand at the sales? Does Ashford disclose a stallion's book size when you call and ask about getting a season to one?

Where did Mull Of Kintyre & Monashee Mountain go??

forget that... Mull Of Kintrye is going to California...
great.. I have mares in foal to a KY reject!
You would think that California would get tired of the sub par Kentucky rejects. I have a feeling he's going to go the Gentlemen route, so they should get him a direct flight to Louisiana and save some shipping costs.
We dont need Mull Of Kintrye in LA, we already have his full brother Global Mission at Stud.

Mull of Kintyre has gone to India, Monashee Mountain has gone to Diamond F Ranch in California.

Sorry about that! I just thought if you guys took Gentlemen... Anyhow, I'm sure the MOK will do just fine in India.

I saw Monashee Mountain at Diamond F, and he's a pretty good looking individual. I also Del Mar Show, and he's one very handsome fellow. Del Mar has a beautiful head, eyes, arched neck, and elegant racey look to him. He looked more like 16'2" than the 15'3" he is advertised at.

Just read on the Racingpost's Website that Monashee Mountain has been sold to Australia and will stand at Racetree Stud in Queensland for A$10,000.
