Southcitytan...I've been out of QHs for awhile, but it used to be there was no such things as a "chestnut", only "sorrels" in the registry. Has this changed in recent years? Seems like they'd just drop the "sorrel" and call them chestnuts -- like every other breed -- but maybe they're allowing both because so many QHs are currently registered as sorrels.

zialand,
to my knowledge they still have sorrel and chestnut registered seperately. yep, just went and varified that they still seperate the two. here's their registration app where you can see the colors they look at:

I was wrong and they do seperate out red dun from just "dun" for some reason. I have my own horse that is a Palomino Roan but as you can see that isn't a color option with the registry. LOL.
