Staria / Forest Wildcat

Bad news from Three Chimneys. Called this a.m. Foal was upside down, Staria was in distress. They had to act, took out a dead chestnut colt. Really upsetting.

SO sorry to hear about that. This is the time of year -- soaring highs plunging to abysmal lows.

That absolutely sucks. Hope the mare is doing fine. Are you going to breed her this year or give her off a year?

Drew, Hope all is ok, and Staria is recovering well. Was she reacting ok to losing her foal? Hope it was too tramatic on her body and mind.

Heard today, thank goodness she is ok. She will skip a cycle and go to RAHY in March. My daughter will be thrilled when I tell her. :D Thanks for the kind words, y'all.

Oh my...sooooooooooo distressing to hear about your loss. I have four mares to foal within the next month.....this is my first go at this.....while I'm keeping my fingers crossed......I know this is an "iffy" business. Hope your "girl" is OK.....and hope that the next time you get a great one....the gods owe you ...

justmares, buckle your seatbelt, because you could be in for a bumpy ride. My hope is you have 4 beautiful babies and your mares are all great mommas. This is a tough game and the faint hearted don't survive. Don't mean to be negative but sometimes things happen and there is no answer. You just have to keep the faith. One thing to know is that whatever happens to you, good or bad, that its happened to thousands before you.

Good Luck,
Larrygene

Just got the good word from Three Chimneys: "We are pleased to report that your mare STARIA as been bred to RAHY on Friday Mar 7, 2008".

Here's the PROSPECTIVE FOAL:

Interesting, not a single inbreeding through 5x... I don't usually see that.

Good luck girl, hope this experience is better than your last...

Thank Goodness... I was pulling for her!!!

I know that you aren't soliciting names for a 2009 baby, but being that your mare is named Staria, etc...

I think that Starry Night or Starry Starry Night is fitting...

lyrics from the song about Vincent Van Gogh - after the painting named starry night…

Starry, starry night.
Paint your palette blue and grey,
Look out on a summer's day,
With eyes that know the darkness in my soul.
Shadows on the hills,
Sketch the trees and the daffodils,
Catch the breeze and the winter chills,
In colors on the snowy linen land.

Sorry. Art is my comfort zone. If it is bad luck to consider names before birth, please know that I didn't know that. Best of luck and congratulations!!!
