Jane I have already been trying to "sell" Traj to Westover ;) She is into the flashy kids so it shouldn't be a tough sell lol

Jenny Mr. Jester is a tall good looking horse however he is not 100% in front. I can't remember for sure but I think he was offset in one knee. If you had a correct mare you'd be okay. Plus I have heard he is a shy breeder.

I bred to Trajectory with my first two mares back when he was 2 for $5k (sold 1 and the other should be down here with me in a day or two). Like his pedigree and the fact he won a Stakes race at Keeneland, Gone West is very versatile not sure why more of them hav not found their way to the grass. Personally I think he's way over priced (now) for a horse who got a shade over 1 winner for every 3 starters his past 2 years. He decent horses are decent they rest are scary(not sure where mine is yet).
I would rather take a shot on Mobil over Niigon. Niigon has a nice pedigree but was a plodder whose record outside of Woodbine was hmm can't find the words for it.

Just my opinion on them, but I tend to be fairly critical.

I have one going to Niigon this year so i wouldn't want 2 lol I never considered Niigon a plodder lol I know he had issues (ankle i think) He is a nice horse, but ya he didn't like Keeneland at all. I know when he ran in the Jim Dandy he was 5th and bumped to 4th after an inquiry ( he was bumped badly i believe) He ran that year against Purge (whom i love), The Cliffs Edge, & Eddington. The Prince of Wales he was out front so long alone and if you watch the head on of the race he is all over the track, he looked lost with no horses around him. Don't know if anyone ever looked at the finish photo but man it was by a nose hair he lost. I was lucky to get a service to him from the trainer, for our farm. Trainer's apparently get a season a year on any horse they train that retires to stud. It is a no live foal gaurentee but it was heavily reduced. Imagine being the trainer of those horses who have the six figure stud fee's!!!!

Traj yes he would be nice with all that Chrome.. My bosses are really leaning toward taking a chance on Tomahawk. We have one due in March. I love you people. lol

Cryptograph .. hhmm i no ziltch about him.

I went to see Tomahawk last year and they showed me a field with maybe 8 yearlings in it, I looked at the yearlings and thought to myself that they looked very ordinary with the exception of one. I inquired who the dam of the big goodlooking bay colt was... turns out that was the only one NOT by Tomahawk, it was a Bold Executive.

Has anyone used Bold N Flashy?

"he didn't like Keeneland at all", ya Gulfstream too. He was placed 3rd in the Jim Dandy but was well beaten at the time of the infraction. I shouldn't be too harsh on him, his 1/2 sisters big filly was the first horse I ever foaled.
trainers usually get 1 or 2 lifetime breeding rights to horses the've trained, for some reason Pletcher hasn't called to use his Impeachment seasons yet though.

I have a nice Tomahawk that will be down here on Friday, hopefully he will be ready to roll early on at Woodbine or maybe even an experience gaining spin around Keeneland first. But with 2 year olds I'm not holding my breath. Will he be a decent sire, I don't know but he will have to get some runners in his first crop or two to justify sticking at his price.

Ya i just looked back at his race record i had forgotten it was 3rd from 4 th i kept thinking 4th from fifth. Where was Sue's Last Dance when you foaled her out? I think a lot of people are tough on him as he really didn't do a lot outside of Canada. In fact the only stake he won was the Plate and its really not a graded stake so too speak. Your hilarious, do you think Pletcher called Park to collect on his free seasons to Tomahawk.

OK THE JURY IS IN!!!

Jane, Mood Swings, it will be TRAJECTORY!!! lol i just emailed Mike Coulterjohn. I was speaking with the husband about it and he didn't realize Tomahawk was $8,500 & thought that was crazy. The season i got for our other mare, whom is expecting a little Tomahawk in March was bought from an auction for $3,900 so it was a far cry from $8,500 bye the way i also got an Ascot Knight service from a silent auction for $1700 i thought that was a great deal :) ok now the opinions can flow!!! tee hee

Maple Lane Farm/Maynard Farm.

"do you think Pletcher called Park to collect on his free seasons to Tomahawk."

You never know, that's quite the quote they used for their ads. Like in mid race he thought wow this allowance horse is going to be a great stallion. When I asked him for a couple quotes about Impeachment 2 years ago a few days the Derby he said "what do you want me to say about him". I kind of lost all credibility on trainers quotes in ads after that. Not that I really put that much stock in them in the first place.

LOL get out of here. That is priceless. I know that Tomahawk was toast when he got to Pletcher, they held him together just to get what they did out of him. I also know he was the meanest horse going when he was racing.

No Jenny we can think of something else to yak about concerning Ontario/Canada oooh aaahh i just thought of something if i can figure out how to post a link to an article i read..lol DRUG CHANGES ARE GOING DOWN IN ONTARIO. Oh new post!!!! lol

Jenny Mood Swings told me your stallion is really really good looking!!!!

MINNOW
Honestly I can't remember how many chestnut mares he bred, it was 2 years now. Chris would probably know better, but the majority of the foals I saw last year were dark bay or bay, same with his horses on the track. That being said, the two Florida bred 2 year olds by him that we own are chestnuts. Chris and I have a chestnut mare in foal to him who is due in a month, we'll let you know what we get.

Congrats Westover for making a selection. You are doing better than me, all my girls are due late this year so I sill have time. I would love to hear about others and who they selected and why.
