Mating Recommendation

Postby cmccarthy9 » Tue Apr 08, 2008 10:01 am

I was looking for input regarding stallions to possibly breed my mare to. Her name is NOT FOR LONG- By Devils Bag out of Mythical Bird by Pleasant Colony.
She has had 3 foals. 2 Colts by Storm Boot and a filly this year by Siphon.

The mare never raced as she had her check ligaments cut as a baby and unfortunatley we didn't know it when we purchased her at a Fasig-Tipton sale as a two year old.

The mare is Huge- stands 17 hands and all three of her foals are AWESOME. Her 2 year old already stands 16.1 hands and is built like a tank.

Anyway, we are looking at breeding to PA Sires and have narrowed our list down to 5.

1) Pies Prospect (But she gets a d nick with him but we like him anyway!)
2) Sort it Out
3) Albert the Great
4) Ecclesiastic
5) Request for Parole
Anyones opinion would be greatly appreciated!

id certainly have a look at freefourinternet. your mare does look to be set up for storm cat line stallion, in particular tabasco cat given he carries barbizon, who's out of good blood (your mares 4th dam)
tabasco cat carries graustark & crimson satan. your mare carries his majesty & crimson satan. bear in mind forestry is out of a pleasant colony mare and harlan and van nistelrooy are out of halo mares, and whilst its devils bag who's not done as well with storm cat and not halo, storm cat has done well out of rahy mares whose 1/2 sibling in blood to devils bag. best of luck whatever you decide

In the five stallions listed, REQUEST FOR PAROLE was the best and most durable runner.
He is my advice for a mare who didn't run (why?)
