Man this guy's flying under the radar:
21 starters
18 winners
5 stakes horses
$75,990 per starter
$4,599 per start
$39,803 median earnings (one of the best median figures out there today).

He does have impressive numbers, and with the success of Greater Good he covered 59 mares in New York in 2005. The numbers can be misleading because Greater Good accounts for about 1/3 of his total progeny earnings. For instance, in 2007 he had 16 runners, 11 winners with total earnings of $431,213 with 1 stakes winner. His average earnings per runner is still very good at $26,950. He is back at Shadwell but only covered 23 mares last year. As a breed to race stallion he looks pretty good at 5K.

DDT,
Even if you omit Greater Good, Intidab's numbers are solid. His average earnings per starter would be $52,453... not $26,950. His median earnings is a solid indicator of just how good this guy's foals have been thus far, from top to bottom... and they would remain virtually unchanged by pulling out Greater Good.
If Intidab had put up these numbers in his first season (rather than spread out over 4-5 years)... his fee would have bee jacked to at least $15,000.

That avg earnings per starter was for 2007, I did not calculate it without Greater Good. I also did not mention that most of his winners were NY bred horses competing for good purses. There have been several articles about him in BloodHorse, and I do not think he is under the radar, and I also do not think he will maintain his good numbers. He would attract fewer mares with a 15K fee, as it is he only covered 23 mares in Kentucky last year and I would guess that the majority of those mares belonged to Shadwell.

Of course he wouldn't get any mares at $15,000... please re-read my post. My point is that in a hypothetical where he achieved the numbers above from his first crop, he would be perceived as a hot 1st/2nd crop sire and would undoubtedly command at least $15,000. The time span in this situation impacts the perception of mare owners and skews his value in the stallion market.
I have never ever seen an article on Intidab... let alone 'several' as you describe. I would be shocked if you could provide even one issue that a piece on Intidab appeared. This false claim parallels your assertion on the other forum that Nureyev daughters have no affinity for sons of Danzig... an assertion that was shown to be a lot of hot air.

Actually the Bloodhorse as well as Thoroughbred Times and Bloodstock Research Daily Newsletter all did stories on Intidab. They were all in 2005 when Greater Good win the Southwest and The Rebel at Hot Springs and was establishing a name for himself as a contender for The Kentucky Derby.Shadwell moved him back to Kentucky and I almost look for him to be moving again but knowing Shadwell, they will never sell him. They have this feeling like John Franks use to have.If somebody wants him they must be missing something.

He was mentioned in several articles in BloodHorse, I never said featured although I can see the confusion.
Hot air is not limited to me, however, I notice that my latest questiong concerning sons of Danzig has yet to be answered.
Also, keep in mind that the breeders who went to Intidab were breed to race, and they usually do not give up on their horses and get them to the races even as 4 year olds.
Let's see how his 2 year olds from his largest crop do this year.

Intidab
We were one of those who bred to INTIDAB last year and had a filly on 3-27.
He raced on 3 continents and won all sorts of races and retired soundly at seven years old. What more could you ask for??

Intidab sounds like a really good deal at $5K. His average earnings per runner are higher than some stallions standing for a lot more. His average lifetime starts so far is 17 which is good for a horse whose first foals were born in 2002. He is doing better than Giants Causeway in average earnings and his get are sounder. www.shadwellfarm.com has his picture and I think he is attractive looking. They both have 6% stakes winners. Giants Causeway has offspring running in NY also. If nobody would breed to Intidab at $15K when he is siring sounder offspring with higher average earnings per runner and more lifetime starts than Giants Causeway whose get average only 8 starts then I guess Giants Causeway's stud fee needs to drop a lot more before he gets to be anywhere close to the value Intidab is. Intidab's runners are averaging more than 15 times his stud fee.
