GOOD!!!!!

But what I read in the big bold INVISIBLE print is this:

Not plunking down an mega amount of money on a horse that hasn't won the race yet, or possibly may not.

Dutrow isn't squawking too loudly this go round....... or am I just missing the proclamations ??? :? :?
trying to come up with something brillant..... this may take a while. :)

He seems to be more cautious for Dutrow. Still cocky compared to a lot of trainers after that Thurs. press conference. For him though, yup, not as squawky. Maybe the magnitude of what he's doing sunk in.

Exactly. I mean what are these people smoking asking that for a Derby winner without a Preakness win and without better breeding? I don't think anybody was offering that for Barbaro or Smarty Jones prior to the Preakness were they? He's only worth that much money if he for sure wins the Preakness, and maybe it'll take a Belmont win too. They're trying to sell him like he's a definite. For all we know he'll get the sniffles before the Belmont. I don't count my Triple Crown winners before they hatch, sorry. There's a ceiling you reach for a Derby winner by Boundary unless he does something else, potential or no potential.

The only fair thing to do to even think about getting that much for him is like Darley with Hard Spun where he got bonuses for the races toward the end of the year like when winning a G1. I think he got like $10 million more for 1 race. Up the amount paid for BB for a Preakness win and jump it through the ceiling if you win all 3. Trying to maximize your profit's fine but nobody at a stud farm pays that kind of money without conditions. They've been in the game for 5 yrs and never with a horse in this position, maybe they just don't know any better.

if coolmore or darley aren't apart of the bidding, which it doesn't seem is the case, he isn't going to crack 30 million

yes and no. stop coming up with numbers.

1. the article doesn't mention a number

2. three chimneys doesn't buy whole stallions, they buy shares of him. If half of smarty jones goes for 19 million, which is about how much they paid, theis no way in hell they would DOUBLE that for a horse that is more unsound and a worse pedigree that hasn't done as much yet.

Three Chimneys has perfect record of failure when it comes to "making " a stallion from scratch.

Can you provide the details to back up such assertion?

Yeah Georgerz I guess that post was a little harsh, not quite a perfect record of failure thanks to Rahy. I guess it was the memory of Silver Charm, Slew o Gold, Point Given, Sky Mesa, Albert the Great, etc.
