Looks like the idea to get him his own harem and keep him away from other stallions might be working:

He is not back in the US. I think the AP just used that New Bolton vet as a consultant to quote, or possibly Shadai consulted with them. they moved WE to another part of the island they are on, where he was far removed from any other stallions to intimidate him.
I thought that was a good idea. A horse that has to have the lead to win is often one that is intimidated by other horses.

Ah yes, they did use New Bolton in an international team:

It's about time they got some expert advice and stopped screwing around by themselves.

Well, you can't be too impressed by the average earnings per runner, because the purses are so incredibly high there from the insane handle. He's got 50% winners so far, doing good but nothing extraordinary so far.

Sounds like he is doing much better but still has some issues with 30% of the mares he is presented. When they mentioned that he attacks mares he hates, I hope they get the mare out the shed ASAP or get him away from her before he savages her. Safety's sake, you know.
Which makes me wonder what would cause a stallion to be so goofy when it comes to breeding. I understand you have to undo the conditioning when they are racing that going after the girls is not OK, but with WE it was perplexing. Hormones of course could have been the issue which brings up the issue of steroid use (not sure if he was given any while he raced) or just the crappy fate of nature not giving him enough. He is fertile, which is good, which means hormones were working--just needed a kick start. Or could it been something psychological entirely...being intimidated by other studs or did something happen when he was being introduced to breeding--mares of certain colors refusing his advances or humans going about it all the wrong way.
I would love to read the entire report, if one is published.

could the average earnings just look so-so due to the small crops who have made it to the track? i know sometimes numbers can deceive either making something look really bad or really good. just curious.
