Native Dancer

Didn't die of colic (as listed on his info on this site). He died after surgery for what was thought to be colic, but it turned out to be an orange-sized tumor and several other smaller tumors in his intestines. He lived for a few hours after surgery and his Sagamore Farms groom was with him the whole time trying to get him to stand after Native Dancer came out of the anesthesia. He was buried at Sagamore Farms, next to Discovery, his broodmare sire.

Colic is a general term for a condition w/ multiple causes. It's usually given as cause of death only in the absence of other intestinal pathology, in this case the tumors.
