Texas circuit trainers, rates and thoughts

Postby elviswastheking » Mon Jun 09, 2008 8:55 am

Could some members that race in Texas let me know what they are paying for day rates on trainers?

Also, let me know who is decent with 2 year olds. I have a filly that is ready, she has already been trained up to the gates, then turned out for 4 months. I am not so interested in "the big boy" trainers, just someone that will spend some time with her. You know, where she is not in a barn that she is just another day rate paycheck for the trainer.

Please PM me if you do not want to respond to this for everyone to see.

Thanks a ton.Please????

Well I wish we had the old forum you would get plenty of replys. You can count on spending at least 35$ per day on track. There are several who train off track and ship in and they charge mileage which today would amount to a lot. Where are you located and what is her name and is she in the data base. PM me if want, my son is going to be on track at Retama this fall.

I really like John Locke.....$45/day ..you can find some at $35.
I have Flamefinder with him. He is a horseman. Has the best help. best feed & alfalfa. Communicates with me ..takes time to explain all the options. Aggressively looks for races.

Your filly is let down & needs 90 days to get back fit to a race. Either let John do it..or have soemone leg her up at 35 a day & then take her to John to race

If you sent a PM to me please resend. I mistakenly deleted all of my messages. Thanks for the responses so far. A couple of my PMs asked for the horses name. It is "Her Hips Dont Lie".

I really do appreciate any and all input. And yes, I do wish they had not killed our Texas board. Has anyone set one up yet????
