The surpirse horse of the sale for me was Medallist. I saw two or three good ones, and they averaged over 100k. They looked athletic and fast (although perhaps a bit light-boned).

Smarty Jones continues to be a disappointment.

Are SJ's foals typically crooked? The only one I have seen is a disaster.

Thanks dray , looks like you'll have some fun for next year with your selections :) Will you get more out of the Keeneland sale?

I wasn't there, but I was impressed that Dogwood bought multiple Limehouses on the first day alone. They really seem to pride themselves on getting their horses to the track, so I'd imagine that speaks well for the soundness of Limehouse foals. With so little sales data on him, maybe this sale will help push him forward a bit commercially?

Keep in mind Dogwood owned Limehouse (I don't know how much they still own). But this is definitely a case of supporting a horse they have ties to.

Just like like Vinery bought a bunch of Purges.

That being said, both stallions were well received by the market.
