I'm looking to send my stallion off farm for the 2009 season and I'm hoping for suggestions on reputable stallion stations known for good care, promotion, etc. Ideally would like to keep him in Ontario but will also consider certain US states. I don't know if going about it via a web forum is wise, but decided to use this as one way to do my search.
Any suggestions or words of advise on my search, please PM me.
Thank You!
Oh and the stallion is Ingot by Seeking the Gold, o/o Catinca by Storm Cat.

I suggestion for INGOT is still Godstone Farm in PA.. PA has one of the best, if not the best state programs I can find and Judith Barrett has a very good reputation.
If you are going to do this I recommend you do this soon amd get a add in the Mid Atlantic Thoroughbred. Talk to Juddith Barrett about how to promote your stallion and do not forget the PA BRED stallion incentives. A lot of good stallions are moving toPA becasue of those stallion incentives; i.e., Albert The Great, Real Quite , ---
Google Godstone Farm and i believe The Godstone Farm for TB will be the first on the list.. If you have a problem gety back with me and I'll send you a email address and a phone number.
My partner and I have a mare, Jason's Hope in foal to Not For Love that we are transporting up tp Godstone on 09/26/2008 so she will qualify as a PA resideb nt mare and the foal can be registered as PA BRED. The mare is now at a farm about 10 miles south of the WV/VA bourder and we usually foal it in WV and g breed to a WV stallion.
Have have another partnership that has kept the mare Perfect Colours and her Yankee Gentleman 08 colt at Godstone since it was dropped in March 08..
Excellent managemant and excellent Vet services.. Tell Juddith I recommended her when you call.

PS: What kind of deal would you give me to breed INGOT to Jason's Hope ??
You might also want to conxider WV and if so look up Blue Spruce

You can always look at the Louisiana program. You can go to labreds.com to read about the program. they pay world wide breeders awards, they can run anywhere in the world. They pay 1,2 and 3rd,
Thanks,

Just a note - Godstone is for sale. No guarantees that it will sell soon & it could also go to someone who would keep it a TB breeding facility & Judith as the manager.
Or it could go to someone who has no interest in TBs at all. That's the sort of thing that would concern me as a stallion owner, since I'd hate to advertise & then have to relocate the subject of the ad, if there is a sale & the new owners turn out to have different goals for the property from the current owners.

Yes, I would also hesitate to send a stallion to Godstone until the farm is either sold or taken off the market. I have a mare that I want to send there but I don't want to have to move her again if it's sold and the new owner either jacks up the rates, goes private, or makes it into something other than a thoroughbred facility. I echo Griff's recommendation of Judy Barrett, though ... she is great.
