Essence Of Dubai

Postby KMO_racing » Wed Sep 17, 2008 10:47 pm

I was talking to someone in Fl today; they said Essence Of Dubai was sold to Venezuela.... Also heard some buzz that some of Hartley Derenzo stallions were/may be going to KY? Anybody hear anything?
Thanks,

Kathy

I heard from a reliable source that Essence of Dubai and Mongoose are both going to Venezuela.

I haven't seen a report yet on Essence of Dubai, but Mongoose is going to Peru per this article in from the online Bloodhorse.

It wouldn't surprise me about Essence of Dubai....as when I was visiting there (Hartley DeRenzo) in July they didn't have anything nice to say about him and said he would be gone....

Still loving With Distinction, though!

I love With Distinction also. I think his babies are going to be well received.

Do you mind me asking what the negative comments were...conformation, disposition, sire ability, etc?

Feel free to PM if you would be more comfortable.

I, actually, quite liked Essence (well, as much as one can like a totally unproven young stallion). I feel he deserved a shot at stud based on race record and pedigree.

Thank you for your time.

He does deserve a chance but he won't get it here. The problem these big farms and stallion operations have is they don't even give them a chance to become a good stallion. If they are not on the top 10 freshman sire list they through them to the wolves. It is truely sad. He or any sire might put out great 3 year olds but not have the early speed horses so they disgard them. To them speed sells.
Thanks,

Kathy

Hartley/DeRenzo stand Senor Swinger in Pennsylvania at Maui Meadow. Maybe they would consider moving Essence of Dubai or other stallions to Pa.? Just a thought.

Essence was already sold to Venezuala

Yes they have interest in Senor Swinger also. He is a really nice horse. They are always open to positive investment possibilities.
Thanks,

Kathy
