Free TB Gelding to the right home

Postby Derby Lyn » Wed Oct 08, 2008 6:33 am

I know of an 8 yr old tb gelding. He is Super Mood http://www.pedigreequery.com/super+mood
With 61 starts (might be more now) 16-11-5. He is looking for a new career. Owner says he is sound, his horses are usually well behaved and ride good and quiet. He is a bay and about 15.3H. Super Mood is put together well, I will report back tonight on his condition as far as his soundness goes. He is in good weight and health. He said the horse is done racing. Super Mood is free.

Rogoulet-don't you own this geldings sire?

Why yes, I do! He actually, I believe, has 17 wins at this point. He was conceived before we owned the stallion, so I don't know the breeders, never knew the mare, etc. but I have enjoyed watching this guy run!

I know Jenarby knew him and thought a lot of him a while back; perhaps she would jump on the chance to own him now.

For what it's worth, I can tell you that the Indy Moods KICK BUTT in second careers. So much so, that I've seriously considered marketing him as a stud in the H/J & Dressage worlds. We have had several calls from people scattered around in many different states who have one way or another acquired his babies, and have looked him up online, found us, etc. These people can't stop singing the praises of these horses; I hear over and over again how they are very intelligent, willing, correct, sound, quick to learn, and athletic. They apparently collect very well and jump anything.

We have only personally sold one into a second career home, and that was to a dressage trainer whose student had purchased an Indy Mood baby... she was so impressed with that filly that she found us to see if we had any more. She ended up buying a gelding for her own personal use.

Anyway, back to Super Mood. I have never seen him, but I always heard he was pretty big... I'm surprised to hear that he's only 15.3.

I really hope he finds an excellent home that will allow him to show his talents in a second career of some type. Please keep me informed if possible. I'll send Jenarby a note, too... you never know.

NTR for 2 furlongs? ARE you serious? Who cards that short a race?

And pretty darn impressive too, for sprinting.

Yeah, they ran him a BUNCH in short sprints. He usually won, too!

Rog-He may be taller...the owner was guessing and he is not very accurate with heights. I don't think he is bigger then 16.1 right now.

Hey Derbylyn - I'm actually way more interested in this guy than the little mare. (Thanks for the pics, she's very cute by the way). Contact info?? Is the horse in Michigan??

This person has not gotten back with me on this gelding yet. I hope he is ok. Apparently he is not sound at all, has big knees and ankles. He is also a bit of a nut case to put it nicely. I will do what I can to get him in a good home if he is still available.

ilovejumpers-where are you located and what are you looking for?

I hate to hear that. As long as he's been racing and as well as he's done, I would have assumed that he'd be pretty professional about things. Are the knees and ankles new or has he been racing with them? I hope he finds a good home.

He is still available and needs a home now.
