In my opinion, that female family is one of the best stallion producers around. Even their less distinguished sire representatives are consistent.

I like that he also can get a turf runner. Poor Laragh just wanted to go go go and that cost her, but she's a big, talented filly and she's got a very bright future.

I like another filly of Tapit's as well, War Echo. She finished 4th in the Frizette, but I thought she ran well considering the fact that she chased a very strong pace.

They produced the fantastic stallion Relaunch as well as the very useful Rubiano, Glitterman, Chimes Bands, Golden Act, etc.

It's a real top quality family who produces stallions at a real good clip, especially this branch.

A different branch with some recent good on track success produced Any Given Saturday and Second of June among others.

It's a great family! I was looking to purchase the mare Southern Chime (full sister to Chimes Band) http://www.pedigreequery.com/southern+chime3 at Heritage Place last week (sadly she was withdrawn!) and you just cannot believe the black-type on this family! Tapit should not only do well as a sire, but could very well be a sire of sires as well someday!

Does anyone know if anyone in his dams family has the large heart? Although I can't recall if War Relic had one, I do remember others in that male line that did.

Tapit got today a second Gr I winner today, when Laragh won the Hollywood Starlet Stakes. This win solidifies Tapit as the leading 2 yr old sire, as well as Leading Freshman Sire. I wonder if his fee will stay the same.

His 2009 advertised fee is $35,000 live foal. I think that's up from last season. I believe he started out at $15,000 live foal. He's certainly had an outstanding year..

I meant to say if it will be raised again from the $35k.

This guy had a nice day yesterday with Headache taking the Cornhusker and the 3yold filly Zazu winning the Hollywood Oaks. He consistently gets good horses.

He has a fee bumped up to $80,000 right now, and looks to be Indy's logical replacement. He has a bunch of SWs out there.

It is really lucky for me that Tapit is at Gainesway - where nothing whatsoever could ever induce me to send a mare!! Temptation removed, even if I had $80K and a mare worthy.
