Monsun mares are an excellent outcross, for those stallions that are inbred to ND---Nearctic---Natalma---Mr. P---RAN---HTR---Bold Ruler, etc.
Those without sin cast the first stone.

Great day for Monsun at Ascot today:

- Colour Vision out of a Monsun-mare wins AGC,

- Energizer by Monsun wins a G3 over 10f very easily and thanks to a cool ride of Adrie de Vries.

I had fun! :D

So did we!!! We are also a bit(!) proud of the fact that the jockey is Dutch, even though the English called him German

:D

Well, Adrie said it was his 2nd ride at Ascot - not a bad strike-rate!

They don't know him, but they will know him ... (sooner or later).

Not to forget: he leads in the German Jockey-Championship after having a run during recent weeks.

Btw: It was a historic win - the first of a horse trained in Germany during Royal Ascot-Week. When Manduro won the Prince of Wales's Stakes, he was trained by Andre Fabre at Chantilly.

And there is the next one:

Estimate, 3yo f., by Monsun (GER) (12.0f) — Ebaziya (IRE) (Darshaan)

wins the Queen's Vase, Ascot, 2m, for HM The Queen.

They may be ''helped''by the track conditions, but nevertheless a great week for the old man.

Yes, hard to deny that - distances beyond 9 f and softish ground, that`s what Monsun's kids seem to prefer.

Btw, there was an interesting article online, unfortunately not absolute consistent in the numbers given:

Although the hot-favoured Novellist failed today by 1/2 a length to give his sire Monsun his 4th German Derby-winner, the eventual winner Pastorius is out of a Monsun-mare.

Btw: Monsun was promoted into Chef-de-race-status [C/S] last autumn, but the dosage-profiles of his progeny given in the PQ-database do not reflect this promotion.

Pastorius is 1-0-10-8-1 (20) DI = 0.43 CD = -0.40, instead of 1-0-8-6-1 (16) DI = 0.45 CD = -0.38;
Novellist is 1-0-6-5-0 (12) DI = 0.50 CD = -0.25, instead of 1-0-2-1-0 (4) DI = 1.00 CD = 0.25
