Tannersmyman--almost all his babies have been winners including a G3.
Benchmark--Offspring love the synthetics.
Slew City Slew--Throws some big, beautiful, kind foals that can run.
Tizbud--Vastly underrated and a fraction of the cost of his full brother. See him in person and you'll buy.
Devil His Due--Throws good-minded foals that have long careers capable of contributing to steady breeder awards.

No, I haven't seen any of his foals in person. However, in delivering and picking-up my mares to various ranches during this past season, I spent a little time viewing about three dozen Cal Stallions and this guy is the one who sticks out in my mind. His nickname jokingly at Harris Farms is "Tizmud" because if he can find a mudhole he's in it. The horse exudes power, playfulness, and intelligence. He is solidly conformed and I would classify him as a miler type, if I didn't know any better. I may end up taking my lowly Turkoman mare down there yet.

Smoke Glacken is at the top end of the prices everyone is quoting here but I think he's an extraordinary value at 17.5 k.
He gets good prices at sale (some many times this stud fee) and his average earnings per runner is excellent (haven't checked the most recent figures but his AES uniformly hangs around between the 70-80k mark). He throws durable offspring and they aren't just sprinters either. A different Mr. P. line through Two Punch and a very good juvenile sire. His best horse was the millionaire filly Smoke 'n Frolic. His son Read The Footnotes has peformed well as a freshman sire also.

Redattore
Redatorre now that his stud fee is 2500.
I about passed out.
Redattore is having all of his success down in Brazil, including a G1 winner & G1 place horse. Often what works in S.A. does not transmit into success for N.A.
Currently Redattore is ranked 7th in Ca. 1st Crop sires list with 13 starters and two winners ($59,745 as of 12/24/08 B.H.). It's far to early to judge Redattore's chances of success here (He's obviously a big hit in Brazil), but fee reduction may be reflective on what he's doing here, thus far.
I certainly hope he works out, and that issue was my only reluctance to take a mare to him. He certainly appears to be a value when looking at his accomplishments and appearance in context with the stud fee.

Tizbud
I looked at some of his babies from his Fl crop. They were good sized, balanced and racey looking having quit a bit of leg, not as much bone as I like. Over all very nice foals, pretty much similar to each other. I believe the value in the foals will be on the race track and not in the ring from the prices I have seen. Great for a breed to race. If the foals show even 1/2 the talent as the brothers have then I would say a good investment.
Thanks,
Kathy
