Ah, I think I figured out what this ad is:
He's General Thomas (by Old Trieste), a 1/2 brother to Harry the Hat (by Seattle Slew).
Noteworthy is the female family... it really is an outstanding branch of La Troienne.
Less exciting is the sire, Old Trieste.
Least exciting is the lack of a stakes win, but he did run in allowance company in New York.
Pedigree appears to be free of Northern Dancer and Mr. Prospector.
Plenty of Reigns, you RF fans!

old trieste
if old trieste didn't die early he would of been one of the best son's of a.p indy and if the has had stakes wins are placed he would fifteen thousand not twenty five hundred old trieste is still on the money list and he has been gone for sometime now. but thanks for your input anyway
Old Trieste was a very good and underrated stallion but to say this colt would have been 15k with stakes wins is a huge exaggeration. There's G1 winners who start off for less than that.
And although this family is good, its one of the most ubiquitous at the sales. There's tons of chances to buy into the family and most don't seem to win. And other than Belong to Me who is spotty, they haven't been able to produce a Kentucky stallion of merit.
With that said, I think this colt deserves a place in a regional market. There's certainly things to like. I understand you're trying to sell a horse, but let's not get crazy with the exaggerations.

In all fairness, loggerman, the above post is nearly impossible to understand. I am guessing that you are trying to advertise the horse for sale for $2500. Perhaps you are trying to say here that if he had a stakes win the selling price would be $15K?
But other posters can be forgiven for being entirely unable to follow what you have written.
So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can.....

I think the original questioner thought that $15K was a high stud fee for this horse.
For what it is worth, the millionaire Hap, who's full sister produced champion English Channel, recently sold for $7500.
I would imagine that $2500 is probably a fair amount (perhaps slightly high in these economic times) for an allowance winning son of Old Trieste from this family. I was just saying that black type would make it more attractive (and, of course, more expensive)
