Now I have never made a point of questioning ads-
But the last few days I have been finding ads that are a bid out in left field
http://www.equinenow.com/horse-ad-173634
Most likely-I would not buy this horse as a hunter or jumper even if you dropped a zero
I have found several other horses that in my honest opinion are priced way to high for their level given the market (or any market really)
Ideas what is going through some of these peoples heads-I have seen some really nice horses going dirt cheap-some of them make me think long and hard about needing yet another mouth to feed-
What the heck??!!

That's an ouchOne of my mare's puts everything into her foals but that one really, really needs extra groceries.
If you check the ad, the foal is all of 8!! days old.. those groceries weren't lost through nursing
If a mare is a good producer she can put everything into a foal.....and loose some flesh. The foal doesn't have to be old or even born yet. As I said she does need groceries.
As one of my mares, ever time infoal she never seems to really fill out. The baby sucks everything out of her. And she is fed very well. One of the best producer's my vets ever seen in 40 yrs of practice.
If a mare's just foaled and feed hasnt been increased she can loose flesh in less than an 8 day old foal!
