Talked to a very reliable source today, and apparently Fusaichi Samurai had a severe muslce pull in his back. Now being aimed at the Breeder's Cup Classic.

Does "now being aimed at the BC Classic" mean that would be Fusaichi Samurai's proposed next start ?

If so I'll fasten my seatbelt...we may be in for a serious ride...maybe including some "spin"..."hype" ... "comparisons" etc etc etc (possibly of immense proportion) from certain quarters...all but proclaiming FSamurai as the "greatest" thing since the invention of the wheel.

Arguably...such a strategy could prove to be a very wise move and (regardless of motivations) could enhance the prospects (and perception) of $4.5 mil (and one for one as a race horse...aka undefeated) FSamurai's appeal as a young stallion prospect in 2006...whether he ever races again...or not.

Regardless...if FSamurai takes the path that your "reliable source" has shared with you...and wins the BC Classic (maybe in only his 2nd career start and/or while still eligible for a: non-winners of a race other than)...he'll be heralded (and rightfully so) as accomplishing an extremely difficult feat. I suggest that even a good showing would be impressive.

I'll select "skeptic"...as my word for the day regarding the proposed racing future of FSamurai...as offered by the "reliable source."

But I'll try to keep an open mind...and I do wish Fusaichi Samurai and his connections the best of luck in their quest...whatever it may be.

I don't think sc. Apparently they were really scared right after the injury for 3-4 days, but now think he will be okay. Just postponed his training for awhile and I would guess a couple of races would be on the agenda before the big race. But that is my supposition only on the number of starts before the BC Cup.

just mentioned to the people who responsible for the colt.
Some treatment with accupuncture, or accupressure will help him a lot
for coming back to the track, as will do time for healing.
Don,t use medication because the problem will not solve, and stays there.
So start with treatment of the sourceproblems and forget the rest.
Muscle problems will come back, by forcing something.

If the field is full(which it ususally is in the classic), does a point system go into place to determine who the starters are?

When the Kentucky Derby overfills (as it regularly does) preference is given to those horses with the highest earnings in graded stakes races.

That's how Rock Hard Ten missed running in the Deby last year, and why John Servis--who was scrambling to get enough graded stakes money on Smarty Jones last spring--ran Rockport Harbor in graded stakes as a two year old.

I talked to Julio a groom that works for Niel Drysdale, and ask him how FS was coming along. Julio said that FS is still at Drysdale's barn and is being worked on to bring down the inflamation and soreness of his muscle pull.

When I see Bob the acupunture gentleman, I will ask him if he is treating FS for his pulled muscle. This type of pulled muscle takes time to heal.
Patience everyone is the key here, as Drysdale has the same.
