I don't tink you can blame him for coming off MTB. He has committments to the Moss' and the real shame is on Calvin for pulling off the Ky Derby winner to ride RA. This isn't going to be a horse triple crown, the way Calvin is riding it's going to be a jockey triple crown and that just is not right. It should be about the horses, and I get sick everytime I think about the 2 Derby's that Borel has won and how it was all about him and not about the horse under him.

Yes, I agree 100% ... in all three cases (Street Sense, Mine That Bird, Rachel Alexander), the horse won the big races in spite of the jock, not because of him.

they were/are simply superior animals.

in my opinion, of course 8)

I know a cobbler should stick to his last...but I do think that a guy like Calvin Borel who has worn its rider silk inside out once
at the most crucial of time..should not be given a chance to saddle MTB...instead sending him to Coventry for soul searching.

True....its triple crown dream of his own...not for the horses....spoiler of the sport.

That guy no good horseman hur...want her dead ?

Of the past 140 belmont...there were 40 near misses (excl 7 horses which did not race in Kentucky Derby & 2 which did not race in Belmont S),

altogether 19 were spoilt in the final leg...including the last 4.

This suffices to support the "freak theory"..only freaky horses can make it.

Preakness has pumped a lot out of this girl..however talented..DONT GIVE HER THE LAST STRAW..dont pooh pooh the idea of making her a
mixed triple crown.

My plea...NO NO NO.

While I've really grown fond of little MTB (even though I hate his name, and even though he made me look like a chump when I picked him in the Breeders Cup Juvenile, and like a chump again when I didn't pick him in the Derby), I don't blame either Calvin or Mike for their decisions.

In fact, I find the outrage rather surprising. A prior commitment is a prior commitment, and when a jockey says a horse is 'the best horse s/he's ever ridden', that shouldn't just be lip service. Sticking with that horse ought to be a no-brainer.

I think they should put Sutherland back on him - she did ride him to a Championship, after all. But regardless, MTB will be fine - especially going 12 furlongs - as long as whoever's on him stays out of the way.

Retrospectively, was MTB a true triple crown hopeful ?...though some give applause to his gene...but I somehow doubt this gene stuff
and always take it with a pinch of salt....Birdstone did win Belmont but so what ? It is not a super thing afterall...Unbridled.. yeas..good
..I long ago followed..he is a highly productive sire which have among his offsprings 10 millionaires. Is the one drop rule so relevant in
the thoroughbred community ? Being 3 generations apart, those good attributes must have weakened consideraly if not disappeared
altogether ?

MTB's challenge is from those fresh and cryptic runners..which are initially reserved by people for The stakes to act giant killer should
MTB take Preakness...That role is now of course made redundant..but if they run they will instill dread because they are oven fresh.
