I believe Jelly Roll Romp was at a farm in NY for some time that has subsequently closed. I think it was called Middle Creek Farm.

There was some public information regarding horses that left that farm, but I don't recall if Jelly Roll Romp was one of the horses there was information on.

stallions

Postby walaa » Mon May 25, 2009 6:35 pm

Yes. I know they were both at that farm. I am not trying to start any thread about gerry :) nobody start on me, please. :( I just really liked both those stallions and was wondering how they were, ( I read somewhere, maybe on this forum, that they both survived, but other initial reports said they both were euthanized) I was hoping they made it and were recovering to stand somewhere else, if not, maybe they were gelded and safe and sound, but I cant find any info anywhere. Even on this PQ, which is usually updated on those situations, it still has them listed as standing at her farm, but no updates. I have also asked on other forums for any info on Sandlot Star, a Seattle Slew stud who was in a similiar situation on a WV farm, to no avail as well. I know a stallion I liked at that farm was rescued and gelded, and SS was available from that same rescue in regular VA, but because I have some barbwire, albeit covered by Electrobraid I was not eligible to help with him nor any of the mares from that rescue. I just was curious as I really liked those 3 stallions, who had no chance, where they were, at stud, went through hell, and now I cant find a word about them. If the powers that be move this to horses in need thread, so be it, but thought I would try here first since they were actually stallions standing somehwere initially. Again, thanks for any info

YOu could call the Finger Lakes SPCA (or shelter, whatever it is called!). I know they both survived and were in foster care and were reported as doing well. Unless something happened later I'm guessing they are still there.

I did not contact them. Many of those associations will not give out info, I guess to protect the privacy of whoever is involved in fostering and/or adopting the animals. I had some PM's from several individuals, with conflicting info, but I got verifiable info from wonderful, reliable sources, and I am relieved for the info I got, and thanks everyone for all the info.

Do you know if they have been gelded?
