In New York, definitely Talc and Cormorant (as mentioned), but also certainly Compliance (sire of an Irish classic winner...not too shabby!) as well as Personal Flag and Cure the Blues (who both eventually ended up in NY).

Somewhat random...but he did produce a Grade I winner in Precocity and an unbelievable amount of mares in the Upper Midwest are by him...the "he" is the Hoist the Flag stallion, Aferd.

Leading sire in North Dakota for 10 straight years! :)

Zuppardo's Prince in Louisiana. Zarbyev has also been very consistant producer over the years in that state.

Have to agree with Magic on Washington:

STAFF WRITER by far. Runners, and producing daughters.

There are good horses running today who are out of Staff Writer daughters.

Yeah I'm down with Staff Writer, the way I remember it he started the goldrush on unraced sons of Northern Dancer as viable stallions after he sired Timely Writer. Then there was Pas Seul in VA with Pass the Line, Yukon with Candi's Gold etc etc. By the way I saw the Jockey Club allowed a horse to be named Timely Writer in 2005! Poor guy is buried in the Belmont infield and they gave out his name.

hi oliverstoned...hi guys

Valid Appeal was one helluva sire plus an OUTSTANDING broodmare sire...and he stood his whole career at Mockingbird Farm (in Florida).

Notebook was a VERY good sire too...standing his whole career at Ocala Stud.

Best.

I agree with this. He always gets lost in the shuffle but he was a terrific stallion who is turning out to be a significant broodmare *sire*. LoL Sorry.
