While researching the pedigree of a horse I'm trying to keep track of I came across two unusual cases. Wise Listo is listed as a light bay stallion and is the sire of a buckskin mare named Wise Fashion, while on Equineline Wise Fashion is listed as a light bay mare.
Also I found the mare Haderfill listed as a light bay. Her only offspring in the Pedigree databse is Bossy Betty listed a a bay mare. If anyone can clarify the color of these horses I would appreciate it very much.
Two possible early buckskins

Wise Fashion was also registered as 'light bay', without a photograph or a probable dilute descendant it's not possible to say if she was a bucksin. Her only foal was a dark bay (by a dark bay stallion), and of HER foals, two were dark bay, two chestnut, and one 'roan' by a grey stallion. Only one of those foals bred on, a dark bay filly, who was mostly bred to a grey stud and produced a mix of grey & dark bay foals. The line died out from there, with nothing unusual color-wise....last from the line was a bay filly born in 1999.
The colors of Haderfill & her parents are correct per ASB. Bossy Betty was her only foal, and produced all bays & dark bays, her two daughters that bred on also produced standard-issue bays & a chestnut or two.
