Great little guy. Have our members noticed the great number of "Stained White" colts and fillies being produced during this decade. I think the number is becoming increasingly high, reason for which the time has come for registering authorities to acknowlege this fact and come up with clear delineaments between what is a "white" horse, what is "stained white" horse, and what is a "marked bay", "marked chestnut" etc.
Today's situation no longer justifies calling cases like this a "chestnut".

I agree 100%! The biggest issue is when these babies are cataloged for a sale, there is currently no distinction from other solid colors. And hypothetically, if someone is sitting at a big sale, and is looking something different, they will have no clue of how to go see it ahead of time, or know when to come in and bid..........

So why would color matter more then pedigree or conformation from a buyers perspective?

Crystal, for the same reason some folks buy bright red sports cars.

It matters if a buyer that shows in the ring or races doesn't want a typical solid color. I'm sure that person would or should look to see if the conformation is correct first (with many TB race breeders that does not seem to be of much concern, and they wonder why they break down so easily) secondly pedigree, then color. It is true color doesn't mean squat to most racing folks, but some may enjoy them and want to give them a real chance. As color breeders improve their breeding stock, more colored horses will be in the ring and on the track, it would be nice if the JC could call them the correct pattern. IMO sabino, white, or overo would work pretty easily.
