Please identify this unusual spotted yearling

Postby Jorge » Tue Feb 22, 2005 6:57 pm

I have been informed that this past August a head heavily spotted yearling with a spot on the body was sold at the Saratoga sales. Unfortunately, the collaborator who saw the yearling does not remember anything else due to technical PC difficulties. Perhaps, someone may remember this yearling for the individual was very flamboyant according to the person. Hope someone may recall this yearling.

The interest is merely identifying his or her immediate pedigree.
(Please don't put this query under the "sales" section.)

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Blessings,

Yup, it had easily enough white to have been dual registered as Paint.

(warning -- they are REALLY poor quality photos... but you can see the markings, including the belly spot)

Maybe you only went to the Select sale? It was the 2nd night of the preferred/ny sales.... (same night as the MONSTER indian charlie yearling sold... that thing was well over 16.1... looked like a 3yo)

Dear Symranch,

Thank you so much for pinpointing that very interesting foal. It seems to me very probable that she is the one. Did a little research on her and learned that her name is STRUTTIN ON UNION (ch f 2003). Her name is here.

Thanks again for your great help.

Dear Collaborators,

You are referring to the colt, now known by the name, INDIAN HAWKE (2003). You can see his pedigree and a comment on his physical here (DMPD).

I added a photo of Indian Hawke from the sale. I'll be very curious to see how big he ends up....

I love the markings on the yearling. I've never seen anything like that. The lone little spot on her back is especially unusual. And...wow...she's Affirmed's grand daughter. VERY nice. I wonder how she'd do on the track? :)
