Gene the Racing Machine - Great Story for "hopeless cas

Postby Travis » Mon Aug 24, 2009 7:46 am

Hi guys, I've come across this amazing story in Gainesville Sun newspaper from 1988, I've been looking for horse properties in central FL and I found it being an amazing adventure!

A colt injured in his 4th race ever - xrays show 2 broken bones and bone chips, someone buys him from dead row for $150 and after some recovery he goes on to win 27 out of 57 starts after his "life ending" injuries. In 1988 he was the most winning TB in the US!!!!

Neat story. It helps when your dam is a half to Cozzene! :)
