I think it's America's sprint racing, as opposed to Australia's longer distances, that makes the difference in starts. Sprinting is much harder on horses.

You may be getting mixed up there. The Melbourne Cup is definitely an exception to Australia's racing. Seven furlongs is considered distance here! NZ is more akin to what you speak of.

If owners are under pressure in Australia to run horses early, no matter what, BC3 should do great down there.

BC3 are going well. They have a score on the board and it's great to see someone having a go.
