Even for a clyde cross she is a funny color. And not too drafty looking. I like her.

Well considering Clydes don't have roan, yeah she's funny. There has to be something else mixed in there. I'm betting Quarter Horse.

That's my first thought, too.

Uh oh. I've met Clydes at work that have white hairs mixed in with colored- isn't that the definition of roan?

Nope, it's not. :D All Clydes are heavily sabino, and as such, MOST with have white hairs scattered in, but that's sabino roan, not true roan. True roan will have a dark (non roaned) head and legs whereas sabino roan will be all over.

Sabino roan (not the roaning extending onto legs and head and even in mane and tail):

Another sabino roan:

A TB/Clyde cross? Wow.
Where is the Clydesdale part of him?

Yeah it hadn't occurred to me... that horse should have alot more white to be a half Clyde too.

Solid black you mean? I've never seen a solid Clyde, although I have seen plenty of black Clydes. It still wouldn't explain the roan on this horse though. I also think it would be virtually impossible to get a half Clyde with this little white.
